Functional Programming Training Camp

After a long day at the Eclipse Summit Europe with a key note on the functional programming language F# (running on .Net) I decided to go to a training on Scala (runing on a JVM). I even found a training camp very near to the Forum at the Schlosspark where the ESE takes place.

Trains - meeting of generations

Today various generations of trains have met in Bauma. Here is a replica of the first train running in Switzerland, the "Spanische Brötlibahn".


Aside many others also one of the famous Crocodiles came along.

Chur - Langwies - Durannapass - Wildhaus - Wattwil

From Chur up the road towards Arosa.

In Langwies to the left and over the Durannapass

to Küblis. Then down following the Rhein to Buchs and over Wildhaus to Wattwil.

Huggenberg - Stein - Hinter Höhi - Amden - Ricken

A cloudy day without much rain - nice trip to Stein over the Hinter Höhi to Amden down to Ziegelbrücke and over the Ricken to Wattwil.

Wattwil - Chrüzegg - Huggenberg

From Wattwil up to the Chrüzegg


then down the other side and up to Hand following some the hiking trail to the Schneebelhorn and the down the Tösstal.

Wattwil - Tanzboden - Egg - Wattwil

This mountain bike trip goes from Ebnat Kappel up to Tanzboden, down on the other side to Rieden and then up to Egg again.

Susten - Grimsel - Furka

Nice road trip from Erstfeld over the Susten, Grimsel and Furka. The weather was this time not too hot and most of the time the wind was supportive :-)

Engadin and back

A nice trip from Chur over Lenzerheide, the Albula, down the Engadin and then back over the Fluela to Klosters.



Especially the trail down to Zernez is interesting.

Panixerpass (Reichenau - Elm)

Somewhere on a blog somebody was writing about crossing the Panixerpass with the mountain bike. I had to do this as well ....



Start in Reichenau up the nice (partially single) trail over Flims towards Falera.



From there to Plauns
and the up to the Panixerpass.

A beautiful landscape down to Elm but a really bad trail.

Maybe just because there was a lot of snow around these days.

Legoland Günzburg Visit

We spent two days in the Legoland in Germany near Günzburg. Happy children, sunny weather and a lot of people.




We had a nice stay in the Zettler's Hotel in Günzburg. Highly recommended ...

From Altstätten to Huggenberg

A nice trip - about 100 km and 3000m ascent.



It passes near the Hohen Kasten down to Weissbad and then up to the Schwägalp. Then I decided to follow the Hörnli Route which is continuously going up and down, partially on single or no trails until I reached Lichensteig. From there I just followed the street.
